Here is how to use our sites to find out if the glass you have is worth anything.
- Look through the links on the left until you find a site that looks like your glass. You may have to go the actual page to see the examples before you can be sure.
- Follow the link to the niche website for the kind of glass you think you have. Go through the search pages until you see the color/shape matching your item.
- Once you know the right names for colors, you have a pattern name, you know the category and have as much specific information as you can find you will need to go to Ebay directly and refine your search.
- Refining your search means you need to read through the item descriptions of listings that seem to be an exact or very close match to your item. At this point you are looking for condition and other variables that might effect price.
- Make a list of the item numbers of the sales that match your item most closely. Come back after the sale closes and you will be on your way to determining the actual market value of your item.
- There are a variety of chance factors at work so you need to see several completed auctions to be confident of your valuation.
- Make copies of the completed auctions and file them with your insurance papers.
