Viking-Glass.com is where we are building a website to help collectors identify and value viking glass items. We purchased a 1958 Viking Glass Co. catalog and will be scanning and publishing it on the site.  The catalog pictures and pictures from current auction sales will help novice collectors identify what kind of Viking glass they have and provide a good estimate of value.  Compared to many of the art glass categories Viking glass seems to be very "clean" with few irrelevant results from searches.

Rainbow-Glass.net is the website where we have started working on identification and valuation for Rainbow Glass Co. products.  We have purchased some of their old catalogs and will be publishing those as soon as possible.  We will also be adding pages with examples from our collection and current sales to help with the identification and valuation process.

They were especially known for their cranberry glass items. We have acquired one of their catalogs and published it on Pilgrim-Glass.com.

The Pligrim glass site also shows examples of several cranberry glass items and identifies the three kinds of labels Pilgrim used to mark some of their glass.  They started making glass animals and other novelty glass items in the Venetian tradition in the 1950's when they hired two Italian brothers who had trained at the Maurino glass works in Italy.

Pilgrim glass closed in 2001 so their catalogs are still easy to obtain and were done in full color.  Combine that with an active market on Ebay and it should be possible to build a good website that helps visitors identify their Pilgrim glass and also get a good idea of it's value.

My wife first saw their glass in the 1950's when she was a little girl. She liked it then. When Ebay came on the scene collecting more of it suddenly got easier :)

Kanawha glass made many types of glass during their lifetime, but were especially known for their crackle glass. This glass is made by spraying hot glass with water to create fracture lines and then re-firing to fuse the cracked pieces.

Crackle glass make an especially pretty display when put in a south facing window that gets direct sunlight. The sunlight refracting from the fractures in the colored glass really lights up the room in an interesting way. Unlike many window decorations it will not be damaged by the sunlight.

KanawhaGlass.com showcases a reasonably extensive sample of our collection and we will be adding more to it as we get ready to downsize our collection. I think we can build it into the website with the most extensive identification and valuation aids online.

Kanawha is one of those difficult to spell words that sellers frequently mess up.  We have had reasonable luck searching for "sleepers"  using common misspellings.  Below are three current Kanawha glass auctions.

Imperial-Glass.info is the website where we have started to explore Imperial Glass.  We acquired a 1966 imperial Glass catalog and have published it there.  We will be adding more content related to identification and valuation.

It is a West Virginia glass where a name on the bottom of the piece adds significantly to value. Like most of the other glass companies they went out of business in the 60's.

They made thousands of products which sold well for many years. As a result there are thousands of auctions for Fenton glass at any one time. It also means there are many children of baby boomer's who are looking at the "stuff" they just inherited and asking themselves:

  1. What exactly is it?
  2. What's it worth?

Neither of those is especially easy to answer.

We will be building out our Fenton-Glass.net website to help with these two questions.  We will create as many pages as we need to show examples of the colors and patterns Fenton used.  Visitors will be able to quickly look through the examples until they find ones that match what they have.  Once they have identified matching pieces they can follow those auctions to completion and see what they sold for.  That should provide a good estimate of value.

We were fortunate to buy a few piees of Dereume glass from someone who knew the owner and had purchased left overs from him.  On our DereumeGlass.com website we will publish some of those details as well as pictures of the pieces we were able to buy.

Listed below may be as many as three pieces of Dereume Glass that are for sale now.  However, it is not common so the search may return empty.
