Carnival Glass was a colorful glass very popular during the 1920's & 1930's. It was so popular prices went up to the point where it was profitable to make more of it. Some of the reproductions were made from the original molds so it is very hard to know for sure if the piece you are looking at is real or not.
I asked my antique dealer aunt about it once and she said she tracked which patterns were known to have been reproduced and would not buy them. Of course, if you have a piece with a known provenence that is not an issue.
Carnival-Glass.org is where we have started building a website for this art glass niche. We will be building it out with pages to help with identificat and valuation as soon as possible.
